40mm AWI - The Acadian War of Independence

This is my contribution to the Nova Scotia Historical Miniature Wargamers 40mm AWI project. There will be historical games eventually but now we're having some fun with expanding the fledgling attempt at raising rebellion in Nova Scotia into a grander affair set in a slightly more advanced Nova Scotia. This follows on some past games in 54mm on the same theme.

Sash & Saber Artillery & Brigadier

Gary's Redcoats square off with my Newport Blues. All S&S.

Was the Chicken Burger really in business in 1777? In any event being in the middle of a battle didn't stop this 40mm version from operating!
S&S civilians plus converted Prince August viking woman & child ,

Indians trying to break into Gary's house where the game is being staged 230 years later. Various PA conversions.

Mike's Highlanders. More S&S.

The British decided not to garrison the blockhouse guarding the bridge over the Sackville River so those crafty Acadian rebels found a ford and came down behind enemy lines to grab it. Too bad the main rebel force was too badly shot up to pursue the King's men as they retreated towards Dartmouth.

An overview of the Battle of Bedford.

1st Avalon Militia Battalion. A mix of S&S, Frontrank, Trident and 1 lone PA homecast.

A Hessian grenadier from one of Prince August's Rossbach series Prussian molds.

More pictures to come over the summer of '07.
